Straight vs. Angled

I'm getting a new cab for my Peavey 6505+, but I was wondering; I heard that one has greater bass response then the other, now does the angled or straight cab have better bass response, and if im only purchasing a half stack which should I choose, is it just personal preference or would one sound better by itself with a head.

straight cabs have a deeper low end.

the straight cabs have the slant thing going on, so the speakers are pointed up more towards your head. helping it send those upper freq's to your ears.

i usually preffer straight. but i own a straight and a slant and use them in different halfstacks with good results.

Would you say slant cabs are generally clearer sounding than straight cabs? Are they usually more expensive than straights too?

They are usually the same price. I don't think i've ever seen prices differ on them. As for clearer sound, there isn't much of a noticable difference. Its pretty much personal preference.

if you just have one cab, i'd probably take a slanted one.
using a single straight cab standing on the ground would make you need to stand at least 3-4m off your cab to hear a good sound, with the slanted version you can hear a good sound 2m off your cab
the straight one hass a little more bass, just because of the additional cab volume.
