Replacing a licensed Floyd with an OFR...

I just want to know what this would involve. The ONLY things I would have to do are replace the pivot screws and the entire bridgepiece, right? The springs and locking nut I figure are completely optional.

Is any other sort of work required to get an OFR to work on a licensed trem guitar(besides setting it up, which I'm pretty good at now)? Just for your info, the licensed trem being replaced is a Jackson JT580 bridge, the stock floyd bridge on many lower end models. I just want to make sure I can do the replacement myself because it seems dead simple.

Oh yeah by the way, does anyone know of any good cleaning solutions or oils specifically made for cleaning the parts of a Floyd bridge? I know this thing called GHS string saver, it's a white ceramic frictionless paste specifically for use at the nut to prevent strings from getting caught and breaking, and can also be used at the saddle(and I believe the pivot joints as well but I won't try it til I'm sure). I just use Q-tips or a compressed air can to clean my saddles and shit.

Wait a second, first of all, are you even sure the OFR will fit in there? The routed recessed cavity might not be long enough to be able to fit an OFR. What I mean is that the allen screws that clamp the strings, they extend longer on an OFR, compared to like most licensed floyds on like Jackson and stuff....

OFR is a direct swap for the JT580

KICK ASS. Thanks, that's just what I wanted to hear. The previous owner of my DXMG had an OFR installed and I don't see any traces of extra routing, and in the stock pics of the DXMG the cavity(and Floyd) looks identical to mine with the OFR.

Thanks, can't wait to grab a new KVX10 and swap the bridges and sell my DXMG.

Its a pretty common customization to a guitar, shouldnt be a problem.
