Metal Instructional DVD
Are there any instructional videos for metal rhythm and lead guitars ala Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Death?

Well there's several I'm sure around the net. I know of
Marty Friedman - Melodic Control
Zakk Wylde - Pentatonics Hardcore
That's about all I know of as far as metal instructional videos. Check out DC (Direct Connect), my brother uses it to get all his musical instructional videos. There's all sorts of shit.

I've got Melodic Control, really helpful video.
There are those Alexi videos but they aren't really instructional... he just ends up doing cool stuff and impressing you.
Does anyone have Marty's 'Exotic Metal Guitar'? I've been meaning to check it out

Rock Discipline by John Petrucci - Not metal, but it sure helps a lot. Even though I still don't do most of the stuff he says to do.

Wish I had more instructional shit.
I've got Alexi Laiho's Passage To The Reaper and Real N' Roll Licks but they are just showing licks, not very instructional.

Not really, cause guitar magazines/those companies that publish instructionals don't give a flying fuck about extreme metal, just flashy melodic stuff.
I've seen that "Exotic Guitar" thing from Friedman... not bad, the video is old as FUCK though.
I wish someone like Karl Sanders, Erik Rutan or Trey Azagthoth would show some secrets on their playing, not only soloing but also rythm technique and playing such tight tremolo picking. I predict Karl Sanders might do an instructional in the future... He seems like the kind of guy you would see doing an instructional. First I want to see a Nile DVD though. I heard some rumors on the upcoming Suffocation DVD that their might be some bonus clip sort of like an instructional or something.
Speaking of instructionals, Pete Sandoval of Morbid Angel/Terrorizer is working on one, but it's a drum instructional(of course).

In Zero Tolerance magazine (from the UK) Moyses Kolesne from Krisiun has a column where he demonstrates techniques via short lick tabs (like you'll find in most guitar mags) It's not a video, and there are no sound bytes on the CD or anything, but it's still pretty useful I suppose.
But yeah, Death metal doesn't sell magazines (or videos apparently), it's always Dragonforce and that ilk. The most extreme stuff you'll find is probably Jeff Loomis stuff, and I don't think he has a video out.

Flo from Cryptopsy just released an instructional DVD. It's really good.
But yeah I think Trey Azagthoth should do a instructional DVD.
