Slayer Still Reigning DVD!

Ok now have i been on another planet or something because i wonder why i didnt know that Slayer put a DVD of a live show playing all of the Reign In Blood album with Lombardo on drums! I was watching Headbangers Ball lastnight & saw a clip from it & i was like i should check this DVD out because i havent been into Slayer since Divine Intervention & i was aware that Lombardo joined again but didnt know they were playing all their old good shit that i grew up on. And after getting the DVD & watching it i was fuckin amazed. And i guess their making a new album with Dave so im starting to get into them again, Not that Paul sucked or anything but i just couldnt get into anything after DI. So if anybody like me thats on fuckin cloud nine & who was a big Slayer fan back in the day & hasnt seen this you will absolutly love this DVD.

The DVD was sick. I saw them on that tour and it was one of he best shows I've seen. They did a bunch of shit off Hell Awaits an Show No Mercy then played Reign in Blood as the encore.

Yet another band 'going back to the roots' someway or another... but it's a good DVD, I like it quite a bit and it was cheap.

Yeah Still Reigning beats the piss out of that warfield piece of shit one. I saw them live and holy crap... the only thing I've enjoyed more than that is sex, and maybe some good beer on tap. Probably not. Just sex.

This was by far three worst live DvD i have ever seen....angles with shitty, SLAYER couldn't even play their own songs (well) and it was just boreing over all....War at the Warfield, had a much better set list....and by the way Rabbifoodslicer likes to sniff little boys bike seats

Yeah War at the Warfield was really dull. There is only so inteserting their DVDs can be because their songs are not mindblowing.

No their songs arent mind blowing but if you grew up on that shit you would understand that playing Reign In Blood as it appears on the album live is pretty cool.

Are you on drugs? They played a lot of mid-late 90's crapola. The lighting was all dark and faggy, with the even lamer "God Hates us All" written in glow-in-the-dark marker across their cabinets. Tom was lazy as hell on vocals and pretty much just spit and mumbled during all the thrash songs they did. It was barely a poor excuse for a metal dvd.

Im not on drugs...and thats the problem, no, the point is, Reign in Blood is really over rated, and dont even pull that Diabolis crap on me, God Hates is a damn fine piece of music, when you add that with Seasons, South(their best) and pieces of RIB then thats a much better set list than some overrated over played RIB straight through setlist, and as for the "Crappy" lighting, I'de rather take uncut rough footage of a band actually playing than take, oh I dont know; SLIPKNOT, and their latest borefest DvD where is was all editing and you could hardly see the show at all, (not that thats a band thing) statement still stands War At the Warfeild over Still Reigning HANDS DOWN

Apologies for the length, more over this was not a personal attack or fact, just protecting MY opinon

Of course, same here. War at the Warfield just didn't appeal to me at all.

I loved Still Reigning (with the exception of when Tom gets too into it and screams, sounding like a mouse) but there's something I liked better about War at the Warfeild. I don't know why but I just liked the feel to that one over Still Reigning. Both were superior though.

Anything after Divine Intervention was lame in my opinion dude, they changed their style & tuned down lower to go with the fad that was going on at the time. South Of Heaven & Seasons both are great albums but nowhere near better than Reign In Blood.

Reign in Blood was a bench mark, at the time it came out nothing had quiet been heard like it before and it upped the ante as far as extreme music was concerned. Those who were too young or not born on it's release won't get the vibe or meaning that it gives certain people, it has been superceeded by other acts and may now, to young ears, sound a little dated.
It's still awesome to hear it played live from start to finish in one go and I love the DVD

Although RiB is awesome, I believe its over rated. Personally, I preffer Divine Intervention.

Cyberwaste - I agree totally with the downtuning thing, though I did like God Hates Us All, for the most part.

South over RiB? Well, heres how I see it:
1. Divine Intervention
2. Reign in Blood
3. Hell Awaits
4. Seasons in the Abyss
5. South of Heaven
6. Haunting the Chapel
7. Show No Mercy
8. God Hates Us All
9. Diabolus in Musica

Personally, I see Seasons as their best album by far. Divine and RIB are two completely different CDs with different styles and such. To compare the two would only be unfair.

Personally, I find the songs boring. You can tell they're still trying to be heavy but nothing really stands out on that album.

Thats cool, a lot of people like that one. I'm more into the early stuff like Hell Awaits and Haunting the Chapel. Back when they were more Satanic.
