Computer Age Selection
Computer Age Selection
Chorus
Engineered, constructed from the small space
Destined to be my super race
Extracted, injected
Branded, Traded,
We have created the impossible
Mold and produce your own
No disease with no genetic flaws
The master beings with no aging
Chorus
Engineered, constructed from the small space
Destined to be my super race
Selected, Fabricated
Operated, Divided
Let's give birth to this new dawn
We all have been given a chance
To make something nature could not
Millions of eons in our grasp
Spoken
Turn forward these clocks
End the days of this natural bondage
Bridge
Above the ashes of waste
They'll step forward leaving them in their wake
Rising above the fallen comrades
Lost interest for a cure
Produced, Named
Armed, Unleashed
Dispensing the waste to prevent an uprising
How there lacks any chance to defend
The altered can't be stopped
Natural selection for the Unnatural
Chorus
Engineered, constructed from the small space
Destined to be my super race
We were engineered, constructed from the small space
We have become the only race
This idea was jogged by a movie. I wonder if anybody can guess which one =)

The Forbin Project? I AM COLOSSUS. hehe yeah, I'm old.
Got no ideas on the movie, but I liked this. I kept hearing something of Neil Young's "Trans" album, "Sample and Hold." with the talkbox. But anyways, the flow of this was good and well balanced imagery. The little diversions in structure broke it up and gave nice little punches. I reread it and I think a good driving rock tune would really make this shine. Nice piece all around.

Thanks. The movie is actually Gataca. Its probably one of my favorite movies for sure, and my friend was talking to me about it.. so was like.. oh shit.. definately something worth writing about.
This is one of those rare pieces i wrote after i actually had music done. Goes along.. about a medium paced metal song. A mix between Death and Dark Tranquillity, something i've been wanting to do for a long time. Best song to date probably.

It is an interesting piece, I will give you that. Did I understand it correctly that the perspective varies as the song progresses, human and machine?
Yes, our little children are already faster in calculating than us. When they begin to think faster than us, that is when things start getting interesting.
Say, about that movie, how old is it? Could you perhaps tell a little more?

Yeah sure. The movie Gattaca is about the future (its about.. maybe 8 years old.. i guess) It has Ethan Hawke, uma thurman, and Jude law. Its about how people will begin to go to the hospital and plan their children. Hair color, traits, and what not. It is about genetic engeering basically. Well the whole movie isn't ABOUT that.. but thats the premise behind the main character. He is a child born naturally with a brother who was engineered. And he always attempts to compete but can't because hes born with a disease or something.
Well eventually he gets a hold of a crippled like.. athelete or whatever who basically works with him to allow him into this space corporation because he has dreams of going into space, and the company and the world discriminates based on perfect genes. Well he uses the crippled guy (jude laws) skin cells, blood, urine and so on.. to pose as another person to get into the program.
Mostly the song i wrote is about Engeering of humans. And yes the song does kinda progress in a way.. That its about.. how we have been given this chance to ... progress human evolution better and faster than "mother nature" could. And upon doing so.. eventually kinda like that movie.. the genetically engineered will run and b ethe.... ruling class if you will.
its not so much about machines.. kinda... But more about creating the perfect humans with no illness or weakness.
