Just got a 9.5" Zil-Bel, I have a recording of myself fooling around with it and will put up a link. I was wondering if anybody uses one or something similar perhaps. I'm not exactly sold on this one in particular, so I'd just like to know what other people have tried and what you think.

I wanted one ever since I started drumming. I'd see these dudes with them on their kits and be so jealous and think (like I do with every toy I see) "if oooonnnlyyyy I had one of those, my drumming would be complete".

So I got one. And for the first 2 weeks I managed to find a way to sneak it into every song I played. Now a month or two has gone by and the dust has settled and really, I feel like it's just a waste of space. I use it very occasionally for the odd single hit, and sometimes as a bell or to play in a long tom roll to break it up, but not really enough to justify it being there.

I still love it, but we've grown apart.

I don't own one but Isaw some videos of a drummer with one on top of his ride bell, and he was doing some neat shit with it. I don't need one though, my ride bell is cool enough for me.
