Peavey VTM 120
Hey,
I just bought a Peavey VTM 120 head last night. Paid $250 for it on ebay. It's immaculate! Absolutely no cosmetic damage, all original, and less than 15 actual hours logged on it. Anyone know about these amps? Wanna share your comments, suggestions, criticism. I haven't purchased a cab yet. I'm just going to use my current 2x12 combo and run it into that for now. I'm so stoked. I finally get to hear/enjoy real tube crunch! Actaul photo attached.

The VTM is a very cool amp. It has a lot in common with the Marshall 2203. The VTM has an effects loop and a bunch of DIP switches on the front that switch in various amp mod type things to change the amps gain and voicing. The VTM uses 6L6 power tubes but with a bit of work can be changed over to EL34's. I used to own a VTM120. I wish I still had it!

Cool!
I was actually considering purchasing a JCM800 2203. A buddy of mine was wanting like $600 for it. So I'm doing good only forking out $250 for this. Anyone else feel free to comment on this. Thanks!

I have a Peavey VTM 120. I paid 130 dollars for it, but it broke. I played it through a terrible cabinet, but the amp did sound ok for what it was. I could get a cool moderate gain thrash sound out of it.

I personally own a VTM 60 and i can get a good Death metal tone out of it with alittle eqing and what not... its no mesa but with a pedal slamming the front you can really procure a good sound!
