hey... for all u podxt users running it thru a cabinet,
do u all turn cabinet modelling on or off?
and is ur output mode stack poweramp or something else? thanks...

When I run the pod xt through my Laney GH50L Slave In Jack, it bypasses the preamp and goes straight to the poweramp. And I turn of the cab modelling because otherwise it sounds like crap.

I run my pod xtl through a mesa 2-90 poweramp and use studio mode which is by far the best, and just think of the cab models as an other eq'ing option. I never really ever change the cab models at all.

I run mine through a power amp, just like having my own personal pa for my guitar it works really well and u don't get all that crap that u get when you run it through an amp.

Its best to use a regular poweramp, because Marshalls, Mesas, Peaveys and others were'nt made for a POD, just like any other preamp. And you are instructed to turn the cabinet modeler off in the user manual if you're using a poweramp/cab.

but that is only as a rule of thumb... and i've heard of success stories with the pod used together with a tube poweramp before...

it'll work fine with a tube poweramp. "best" is a subjective term, and in this case, whether it's better to use a s.s. or tube poweramp is up to you and your ears.
