What do i need

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask what kind of stuff I need if I want to play a show with my band? I'm in a death metal band, I'm using a fender strat and line 6 flextone II amp. Is that enough? Any pedal reccomendations? Half Stack ? etc?

obviously if youve got the money go for a half stack, marshall jcm, crate blue voodoo, peavey 5150, mesa recto (if u can afford it )

guitar wise just get some humbuckers. or get an ibanez rg - theyre relatively cheap and realy good aswell.

Nobody needs a mesa, they are just nice. A 5150 or Triple XXX stack can sound just as good with some tweaking. There's more than just having humbucking pickups in a guitar, having a nice neck that you feel comfortable on is more important than having humbucking pickups. And having talent is always a plus.

Hell yeah man. Dont let anyone tell you fusion is a dirty word.

I like fusion metal bands. Theres a band in Melb Aust called Alarum that are a very Jazz / Metal kinda band. Excellent musicianship.

Fuck EMG's. There's only one guitarist who I fully approve of using them (He's the only guitarist I know that I like that uses them) and that is Jeff Loomis. Get some good Seymours or DiMarzios.

i could throw hundreds of cds at you with emg's on them, and chances are you'll probably like alot of the tone and playing.

I don't doubt you. They are starting to grow on me. I mean, I still prefer Seymour's in better grade guitars, but the EMG's are growing on me for mid-range instruments. I'm thinking of putting an 81 and 85 setup in one of my Jackson's.

You prefer having EMG's in a bad guitar rather than a good one?

Jazzy death metal? You bitches better go listen to Atheist. Especially if you're into later Death and shit.

What you need is a pair of good humbuckers, probably a different amp, and an immense pair of balls.

+1

if you mix such different genres such as jazz and death metal... you NEED to have balls... just like you need balls to play a daisy rock heart guitar at a death metal show (which i intend to do before i die)

It will be the funniest thing ever
