Ever swapped a tune-o-matic bridge?

I want to ditch my JS30 Jackson's current bridge and get a TonePros or a Schaller roller tuneomatic. Has anyone ever replaced a bridge? My main concern is the string spacing/size of the bridge that I need. I can't find anywhere(even on the Jackson site) what exact measurments the stock bridge has. I don't trust my ruler, I'm probably not getting accurate results. Maybe someone has swapped a tuneomatic on a JS30 before and knows exactly what bridge I should buy for replacement. Is it alright if the measurements are slightly off?

I just need the thing to sustain better, and I'm thinking the intonation on this thing is crappy too. This model bridge, the JT390, is on the Jackson JS30 series, the KVX10, and even some higher end Jackson models(the RR5 I think), so maybe.

I have a KVX10, sustains quite nicely, nothing wrong with the bridge at all. I'd check your intonation etc... first before swapping out the bridge (plus the JS aren't all that good, they won't sustain very well anyway). Maybe look into getting a sustainer system?

Hmmm, does your bridge get dirty easily by any chance? How do you clean it? I guess I wont swap out the bridge, I'll just use my GHS ceramic frictionless guitar lube on the saddle notches and nut.

My guitar should sustain well, I think it may be the nut bogging it down a little but I don't know. The bolt on neck could be tighter though, I can fit a sheet of paper between the heel and neck. Should I re-bolt the neck back on tightly? I can't really turn the neck plate screws any tighter.

What exactly is a sustainer system, is it an electronic device like on Kramer Baretta sustainers? Floyd rose guitars from the 80's? Does it affect the sound by other means than sustain?

Well, my bridge doesn't realy get dirty at all as far as I've noticed.

A sustainer system is like this:

Fernandes Sustainer System

Edit: Jackson do a sustainer as well like on the DK2S Dinky

Oh, does that mean I can't use my 2 pickups anymore? That sucks... I thought it was a chip or preamp of some sort inside the control cavity. No thanks...

Anyone know where I can get those headstock brass plates to improve sustain? Would sticking some sort of small weight in the control cavity also improve sustain?
