Is my power amp about to unleash electric death?

So the past few days at practice, there has been an EXCESSIVE amount of static electric shocks being given by everything we touch in the room. The walls, our gear, guitars, each other, it's all one wonderful static-shock-apalooza. (actually, it's not that wonderful, because my index finger cant move very well right now)

The only reason I think it's my poweramp is because recently, Channel 1 completely cut out on me (no sound whatsoever). I went in, inspected the tubes and electronics, and when i turned it back on everything was fine (i only jiggled the tubes a bit!). Now it's doing the same thing. Also, channel 2 seems to be a little fizzy in nature, but that might be the wonderful monster cable i've been using as a speaker cable.

Is any of this signs of my poweramp about to unleash electric death upon my bandmates and I? or should I just remove the shaggy carpet that my drummer puts his drums on from the room?

I really doubt it's actually my gear but I do wanna be safe.

Maybe your guitar is grounded improperly? Or the outlet you're using for your gear may not have a ground connector, or it's reverse-polarity. I hear those circumstances can be VERY dangerous. Someone more informed on electronics can help you out. If it's that serious, DONT continue to jam until you fix the issue.

im betting it's a grounding issue as someone stated above. check the outlets in the band room(you can buy some gadget to see if the outlets have working grounds).

I had a Peavey with one of those to, I think that has more to do with just the amp buzzing and stuff like that, I think.

Also, is it winter there? If so, it may just be really, really dry in your house and you're scuffing your feet too much, haha. I really couldn't know for sure.
