Presence?

I have a Presence control knob on my amp and can't figure out what it does. Can anyone tell me what it does for the tone?

I have one too. It boost the really high frequencies. I guess frequencies that could not be controled by the hi knob under the eq.

turning it clockwise boosts the higher frequencies whilst turning it anti clockwise boosts the low end
