additional musicians
when a band has a guest musicianplay an instrument on their album, does the guest musician usually write the music to the songs.
example: on the my dying bride album "the dreadful hours" (which actually turned out not to be a waste of $13), Johnny Maulding plays the keyboards on it. did the MDB bands members write the keyboard arrangements themselves and just have johnny play it or did Johnny write the arrangements himself?

i don't know MDB, but my senses tell me that when a guest plays,
the band writes the song, and the guest plays his/her own arranged
part, or the guest writes the whole thing...
