preamp?

im pretty much decided that im going to get a mesa 2:90 poweramp as i have heard they are amazing for playing super tight brutal stuff.

the thing is i dont know what preamp to get (my budget will be blown on the mesa power amplifier) so basically i need to know what preamp to get that will match the mesa poweramp nicely and maintain the brutality provided by the poweramp.

thanks alot, i was thinking along the lines of digitech 2101 but they seem to be hard to track down so are there any others?

Wouldn't it be more important to spend more on a preamp and cabs than a poweramp? I suggest an ENGL 530 preamp, for 480$.
