same circuitry?
a friend has asked me to do him a favour and find out about the cicuitry on a crate amp.
he wants one of the blue voodoo heads and he's gonna buy one brand new.
he cant afford the bv150hb so he was gonna go for the bv120hb.
does anyone know if the bv120hb is the same internally (except less valves and less wattage) as the bv 150? as i know that the bv150 is the same as the bv300 except scaled down.
is this the same as the bv120 to the bv150?

it is not the same. the older blue voodoos do sound a bit different. i personally like the older ones better anyways.

Make sure he plays a BV before he buys one.
I have heard horror stories of them sounding verry very bad

any amp can sound bad. ive heard them in person and played them. they sound great imo.

I've only played the 300 watt version, no blue tolex.. and it didn't have any muscle

you could crank it all the way. 300 tube watts will not saturate. those powertubes wouldnt feel a thing.
