engl fireball vs peavey xxx

on ebay at the moment there is a peavey xx and an engl fireball.

the xx is cheaper but i dont know what one to get, ive heard good things about both of these amps, but i dont know what one to get.

i want to play brutal death metal, and ive heard suffocation play the xxx's but then again necrophagist play the engl's.

so can anyone help?

personaly i would go with the Fireball, it is much more unique sounding i think!

plus the engl palm mute sound is invincable

i played all engl and own one for myself. i'd recommend the fireball to you. muting is so balls. and lead tones are very nice if you know how tu use eqs etc ...

i think the engl has shared gain for both the clean and dirty channel though, hmmm...

I haven't played the fireball so I can't comment on that amp but I do own a XXX. It's a really good amp. It has some decent cleans and the Crunch Channel is good. I don't really use the Ultra channel because it sounds scooped.
