drive pedal...
Okay, i cant bring my shite-ass spider II to my bands jam pad, so i'm stuck using my friend's dad's fender twin reverb. Her dad told me to bring a pedal to get distortion out of it because... lets face it... a fender twin will blow the fuck out of a tiny basement jamroom if i turn it up to make it distort on its own.
Would a maxon od-808 work to get a good amount of drive out of it? I just need a workable distorted tone... enough distortion to make palm muting sound decent, and have a decent balance in volume between different notes... and i;ve heard SO many reccomendations for it.
Thanks guys.

a maxon 808 is pretty much only good for a boost. so if you're boosting the amps drive channel then you might be okay. but stilll, nothing to brutal.
try a turbo rat

I'll look into that... will it be able to push out scene type tones? I figure, start scene, then make something decent of it.

and yes, it is a huge priviledge... but still... twins are moreso known for their cleans... and thats not the sound i'm looking for... im more of a high gain guy... i even like my cleans to have a little bit of gain to smooth them out...

define scene?
rats are known for a grungey type overdrive. as apposed to the transparent maxon sound. and they have models like the turbo rat, duecetone, and the "you dirty rat". that are higher gain and more modern sounding. they'd sound great in front of like a tube combo.

scene as in all those "hardcore" bands that are getting endorsed now because they all sound the same... as i lay dying... poison the well... alexisonfire...
Its hard to describe... think medium-high gain... with a flat EQ so that all the notes are the same amount of volume and distortion... yeahhh...
