If your going to get those detonators, you might as well go for the real thing. Those are just the cheap versions of the "Invaders" which are made by seymour duncan.

duncan designed just means shitty pickups that only sell because of the duncan name.
i have an rg570. and honestly i'd say go with active emg's(i have the 81/85 set, but i don't dig the 85, i'd rather have a 60 in the neck). or dimarzios(tone zone in the bridge).

Ya Duncan Designed = SHIT! Out of all the pickups ive had & tried these are the worst. After i recieve my EMG 81-7 & 707 this week, im ripping them out of my new ESP & putting them on ebay for a fuckin penny!

i wouldnt go so far to say they're "the worse" because i have heard worse... they're just not really worth putting in a guitar as an "upgrade". they're the kinda pickups that come stock in most med-high end popular guitars... well, them and emg hz's.

imo... the bc rich bdsm pickups are the worst i've ever heard... they make me want to die.
If you want your basic sounding, sterile, really tight pickup, and dont mind losing some character of your guitar... go for emg's... their responsiveness and 'tightness' definately make up for what they take away.

Yeah i read somewhere you had put those in, i do want EMG's, only ting is i gotta find them 2nd hand coz im not paying $250nzd each for them, that would mean i paid the same amount for the pickups as i did for my guitar.
Ill jsut wait with an open eye. How hard was it to install them, did you do it yourself?
I would want the 81/60 setup aswell anyway. Mainly because i do play a lot of cleans and apparantly the 60 is mint for it.

even the bc rich pickups aren't thaat bad. sure they suck in comparison but with my amp, my bc rich sounds respectable considering.

The stock neck pickup in my cheap chinese made guitar was okay, but the bridge pickup sucked. shrill and flabby, and there was a huuuge volume difference between the two pickups. Now I have a JB/'59 in the guitar

I have a duncan designed detonator in my explorer. sounds just fine. Some times I prefer it over my X2N
