i wanted to get a marshall 1960a cab but due to the lack of money (godfuckingdammit) im having to resort in amking my own cab.

i can already get hold of all the schematics, circuitry etc but i need to decide on what speakers to get. i have no experience with speakers so i have no idea whatsoever of what ones to get.

i dont realy mind how much they cost as theyre not that expensive right?

i dont know if you can get speakers specifically for high gain stuff but have you got any suggestions?

To make your own cab from scratch, by the time you've gathered the materials, speakers, corners, grab handles etc. you're gonna be looking at around 250 quid, the price you can find a 1960a on ebay for. I'm currently building my own 2x12, and i got a couple of Eminence speakers, set me back nearly 100 quid, so its not gonna be much cheaper im afraid!

Depends on what amp you're playin through ... if its solid-state, you'll want speakers that handle like 400 watts or more ( such as my Eminence Delta Pro 2x12 .... love ). If you're playing tube, just wait for something good to come along, man.

you can buy my marshall 1960b cab of me if you want , its brand new near enough. I don't need it so aint no point in keeping it

What are the best cheapest speakers i can buy? i was looking at a crate gx412xs , i dont know if this is a good cab or not but if its not i will swap out the speakers with time. Any suggestions?

what are the best speakers? no one answered my question, i play brutal death metal and i am going to make a 212 cab, i dont realy mind the wattage as all the gigs i will be playing all the amps will be run through pa systems anyway.

i was thinking vintage 30s but i have no idea.

i found the eminence website entirely unhelpful, i dont know anything about these speakers anyway.

what are your recomendations, i need some soon as im going to buy my engl fireball head soon so i want a cab for it. (the head is a 60w all tube head as you probably know)

i want loads of fat bottom end for playing brutal stuff but also i want a decent tone for lead stuff like solos etc, etc

cool, thats gonna be pretty sweet man, what sort of woodworking joints are you using? or are they just straight forward diagonally cut wood and glue joints?


and also who is supplying you with all the hardware (corners, castors, tolex, etc, etc)?
