kinda depends i guess, some solos sound better on bridge some on the neck pu
most necrophagist solos sound better on the neck pu imo (xept for foul body autopsy solo)

Well at least for Sweep picking stuff I like to use the neck pick up. For some sweep stuff the bridge pick up sounds good too. It depends what type of tone you are looking for when your doing your leads and what sounds better on what section of a song you want to solo over.

I'm to lazy to switch pickups in a song so I play anything with my brdige pickup wich is an X2N. I only play cleans with my neck pickup. wich is an invader. But if there's a clean part in a metal song I play it with my bridge pickup because I'm lazy

I only use the neck position...only 1 pick up...I think that using back or both together (on my other guitar) make it sound way to muggy. I like crisp/bassy sound...not muggy...blah

I have been thinking about getting a guitar with just one pickup ( Bridge). Because to get a neck type of tone on a bridge pickup all you have to do is move your picking hand up closer to the neck of the guitar to get more of a neck pickup tone. I dont like switching very much either. I tend to wear out my Select switch real fast with all the back and forth shit.

Usually Bridge pick up used for leads and dist...though Dave from iron maiden uses mostly the neck pickup for (example in the Rainmaker intro)

I drop my neck really low, almost parallel with the body, for jazz sounding tone. But I only use my bridge for metal. Also I only use the neck on my 7 string. And the bridge on my six.

I always use the neck pickup. I like crisp, full, trebly distortion, and I like trebly twang steel-like acoustic sounds. Bridge pickup is just too muddy for my liking.

Rule of thumb:
Bridge = rhythm
Neck = lead
But it can vary a lot.

I use my bridge. Seymour Duncan pickups, gotta check which ones. Really tight sounding.

I think you have your bridges messed up. The neck pickup is normally muddier than the bridge. Unless of course you have a shit guitar.

i use bridge for rythem and neck for leads. if im playing lead on the heavyer strings (lower 3) i stay on the bridge, but as i get higher it helps to go to the neck to smooth it out and keep it from sounding to piercing and thin.
i switch pickups in mid solo sometimes. but i dont solo much cuz i suck.
hell i even use my coil tap. all in one solo. but i usually have to switch too fast and miss the right position

Its really hard to switch pickups while playing live, especially into a solo or a lead. So normally I just use my bridge for everything. Although leads do sound smoother with the neck pickup.

i got the wiring switched around on my new pickups so its as if the pickup selector was reversed.... this actually has been good because when a solo comes i just quickly wack the switch down (instead of having to pull it up). might be easier doing it this way live?

PAF's pro,EMG 91,or a 7 string JB in the neck.I use neck for smooth sweep/lead slower style playing,bridge for sharper higher gain solo's.

I generally use the neck pickup for soloing, although if I'm doing a palm muted run or pinch harmonics I'll quickly switch to the bridge pick up. 99% of my sweeps are performed while using the neck pickup - I get too much unwanted string noise when using the bridge pick up.
For rhythm playing I mostly use the bridge pickup with the exception of when I wander into jazzy interlude territory.
