What the hell does this mean?
Im filling out a form for an ESP custom guitar & there is this option for the headstock or the neck to be tilted. Now what does this mean? Does it mean the headstock will be tilted back like on most all guitars or does it mean something else? Here is a pic of the form, i circled the option.

yah, it means the headstock will be tilted back. Its actually better to get that done, puts more tension on the strings behind the nut...although I'm not totally sure of the effectiveness of it...I just know its better.

I figured thats what it was, i just had to be sure though. I dont see why anybody wouldnt want that. It would look fucked up if it wasnt tilted. Thanks phil

Yea, Fender Strats and Teles aren't tilted, so they need the string trees to give the strings some tension against the nut. Chances are, if you've got a Jackson, BCR etc. its tilted, so i'd suggest you go with the tilted option- no one likes string trees!

Tilted headstocks are great, puts more tension on the strings which improves their sound and playability, and increases tuning stability.

It does if the strings are not flat against the nut before you lock them down. Tuning will be all kinds of fucked up.
