nahahahahaha
" i think squire amps are the best because squire is cheap"
"hahahahahhaha"
lame!
did you notice that those amps also sound CHEAP!!!?!?
if you want nice distortion, go with peavey or marshall, or even better, hughes and kettner.. (but those aren't sold much in the u.s.a.)
I've tried fender and squire amps, they all suck from my point of vieuw, true, not all marshalls are good.. at high volumes I think they are shit (well the combo's that is..)
the best distortion I've heard so far came from a Laney Linebacker.... but I haven't heard Peavey yet...
and Hughes and Kettner is the absolute top, but they are expensive, like mesa boogie and all that stuff...

my little squire comment was pure sarcasm........im sick of people that dont understand that there is no best of any instrument, it all depends on the person.

I'm dutch I don't understand sarcasm!
haha, yeah, it's a matter of personal taste, but everybody will agree that some amps are "bad" and that some are "good"
every moron will hear the diffrence between a Mesa Boogie and a Squire....

i dunno man, ive seen some old guys operate some shitty equiptment. This dude thought his squire stagemaster and peavy112(no it wasnt a bandit, it was some shitty with absolutely no effects or distortion) amp was bad ass.

I saw Random Throw down play at the Seattle Guitar center. That guy was rocking out! It sounded badass and he was operating a little guitar. I think the best advice on investing in anything music related is to go to the store and try it out for yourself, who cares what other people like its all up to you.

Hughes and Kettner
the reason?
well, your on a metal forum, so i'm taking it your a metal fan, and H&K make all their amps with full on metal and hard rock in mind...unless you wanted to settle for a marshall (not dissing them) that are typical used by mainstream punk and rock bands...
another brand would be Peavey and Trace Elliot for the same reasons. personaly, dont get some because its cheap because by the time you keep upgrading you'd of spend more than the last big amp you get. so get a brand name, they all have cheap models.

MY HERO!!!!
I play bass and I use a H&K bassbase 400w tube combo, it absolutely kicks the shit out of a lot of amplifiers...
our guitarist also plays on a 100w H&K...
the sound rocks!
if you play guitar and have heaps of money to spare, buy a ZenTerra top or even a Triamp top!!!!!!
