Rig Help???
Ok, check it out. I've been building up some cool gear over the last few months and need some help getting it all to work together.Here's what I got,
Mesa triple rec,
pod xtl,
mesa 2-90 power amp,
Randall cab, v-30's,
Thd hotplate,
What I would like to acomplish or what I think would be cool is using my triple as my main rythm sound and use my pod for solo's and clean sounds and such. I was kinda thinkin about using the triple's slave out( with hotplate as a load) as one preamp and the pod as another preamp and somehow switching between them through some kind of loop or something,and then going int the 2-90 power amp, but aint really sure of the best way to acomplish this. I know that I'm gonna have to buy some kind of router or loop switcher type thing but aint sure which way to go.I know you guys here are always full of good idea's so let me know what yall think.And if you guys have a better way of setting up this stuff let me know too, thanx...

damn nice setup....sounds pretty similar to what I have. I have a question, what OHMage Hotplate do you have? I am looking to get one and not quite sure which is best for me....and also...how does it affect your sound?

the hotplate freakin rules. as far as I can tell it doesnt really effect your tone at all. My rectifier is in the pawn shop right now so I;ve only hooked up the hotplate to the poweramp so far. It has a line out with a volume control on the back so you could even hook up some headphones to it (mono though), or record from it without a cab hooked up at all. I've heard that some people think that it doesnt work all that well but they must not have set it up right. I'll give it a 10 for sure.

8 ohms. The hotplate has 2 speaker outs on the back. I called thd and they said that I could use 2 cabs but then I would have to use the 4 ohm jack on the amp, or something like that.
