Question regarding pickups..

Hey ,

Ive done a search on guitar and the gear forum regarding having Neon-like-lights inside the guitar around the pickups , but couldnt find the info I was looking for , about what I need , to do it , and how to do it.

Can someone post me a link to a thread on here , or a link to website with info about it.

Cheers

Ive seen these for sale on ebay before, cant find any now, from what i remember you put these small LED lights underneath the pickup in the cavity which are wired to a 9V battery clip and then to your input jack, kinda like EMG's

Exactly what Edguy was on about.

I remember seeing pics about it somewhere on either the gear forum or the guitar forum a while back ( whilst i was just a guest ). But recently decided to join up to try and get more info on it all , because i was interested in whacking some in my Rg370dxl.

Or wrap your pickup in a glow-in-the-dark condom.

they used to have these packages on ebay.... basically you need an active pickup system, and you wire LED's into the circuit, inside the pickup cavity so it looks like the pickups are glowing.

You could do it a whole bunch of ways. You could wire them parrallel to your active circuit so they turned on whenever you plugged in... you could put them into a passive system by putting the led's on their own circut and attach them to a switch or something.... you could wire them to the pickups so that they turned on according to where your pickup switch is placed.

Do it how you like... some of the ways might require resistors... and i'm not much of a physics guy so dont ask me exactly how to do it.... just buy some LED's like 27000 - 35000 mcd (bright enough to see them) and some wire and play around with a battery.

Didn't Cyberwaste post a post in the guitar forum on how to add LED's under the pickup cavity?

edit: Can't seem to find the post. I know I seen a post on how to do this less than a month ago.
