How can you find out what year your guitar was made?
Is there a site where you can find out what year your guitar was made by checking the serial number on it?

I just did a quick Google on the serial I found on my Ibanez GAX-30, but it didn't come up with anything. I think the serials are just for each specific guitar, and probably don't mean anything about the year it was made.
Do you mean, the very year YOUR guitar was made, or the year they invented that guitar?

I had a tough time finding the model and production year of my guitar. I ended up e-mailing them a picture and they told me right off the bat.

Usually the designer website has some sort of archives, or they provide a number you can call. I've got a dated Platinum Warlock that I've been trying to find the year of, but apparently they lost a bunch of their records in some flood - but Ibanez and Fender seem to have some prestige in this area.
