X2N Plus?

Does anyone know the difference between modern X2N's and the old "1979 X2N Plus"? I've noticed that the old X2N had holes in the pickup's surface(for air flow?). Do the old and new pickups sound exactly the same? Or is the new one hotter than the old Plus model? I'm fearing that those "air flow" holes will probably generate a lot of feedback, due to microphonics, but I don't know.

The uncertainity on the X2n+'s worthiness is keeping me from buying it. I find them used for much cheaper than regular X2N's on ebay(which rarely are sold used).

Id say they sound different, most likely if they are built that differently.Ive never seen them.I doubt the old ones sound the same as the new.
