Recording Vocals

Hello

I'm curious as to how you record your vocals (for the people that record). I record my vocals by connecting my mic to a PreSonus Eureka mic preamp than the preamp goes directly into a recorder. When you record your vocals do you connect your mic to a mic preamp, poweramp, than to a recorder? I never used a poweramp for vocals just a preamp. Are there poweramps for mics?

Poweramps (amplifiers!!) are used to amplify the signal so that it can be put out from speakers
