Your Practice Gear
What gear do you use for practice, not your main rig,but for late night jamming,or sitting in front of the computer, whatever?

I got a Roland Microcube that sits on my desktop. With my EMG loaded guitars, it can get quite heavy on the recto setting. So small and nice to play along with powertab stuff by my computer.

when my rig's at home, i just use the rack and i'm cool.
Right now I just play everything unplugged. Not so bad, plus it forces you to do something interesting rather than DUN...DUN DUN DUN...WEEEEEEEEEE and get nothing accomplished...which is what i end up doing if my halfstack's at home.

For the moment my regular amp but I'm getting a Pod XT which should be suitable for lots of stuff including late night practice.

Well my ibanez tone blaster stands by my computer, but when i practise very late i usually unplug my guitar. Otherwise, i use muy fender amp with a metal zone, boss eq, boss chorus and a dunlop wahwah. That's also my main setup.

My main rig = my practice rig:
Jackson Kelly or BCR NJ Ironbird(with Tone Zone) into my Tech 21 Trademark 30. Sweet ass solid state 30W combo(but has a 50W speaker, and gets unbelievably loud with the volume not even on 1), I owe it to xdislexicx for reccomending it. It's a bit more pricey than a Roland Cube 30, but I decided to get it anyway. I can't use it at night... it's too loud, the volume knob is extremely sensitive.
For late practice I either use headphones... or I take my Zoom G2 and plug it into my computer and play through the speakers, sounds nice and the volume is way more controllable than on my amp. A shame the distortions on it aren't very good(cept for a few models that don't sound too fake), but all the other effects on it sound decent so for practice it's acceptable).

Hah cool. I saw a Bv-60 on eBay going for cheap but then realized it was 5 days away from the ending date, and another BV-60 was already going for 300$+ so bleh, I won't be jumping for one like I thought I would. How much did you buy yours for? Used/new?

Oh so like 400$+ US. Damn, I was hoping it was less. God damn it, I had breakfast at an airport in Manchester and the fucks charged us 45$(£20?) for two plates fried eggs, bacon, a half-assed piece of bread and some sweet beans.

I tried one out at the local guitar store, and its quite amusing, but it has many drawbacks. For practice it's more than anybody could ask for, seeing as it has a built in drum machine + bass + keyboards, etc. But I wouldn't recommend it for a band type setting. The distortion channels are not too great, albeit not the worst, and the EQ isn't really responsive.

I have a Spider 2 212 in my bedroom and a little Peavey Studio Pro 110 by my computer that's about 10 years old, but gets the job done. I dunno where I'm going to put my rig when I get it, I have the Peavey 6505+ head, just looking for a cab now, then I'm getting a THD Hotplate and most likely the Korg DTR-1000 rack mount tuner...YES!!!
