ive finally found an ampeg vh-140c head (im importing it from the states)

basically the choice is between the ampeg and a crate shockwave.

i would prefer the ampeg but its a bit troublesome importing it.

its a pretty good price though at $350 (£195)

i just wanted to find out some more about the amp realy. the guys at the shop say its got a tube part to it but i dont know much about this, i didnt even know it had a tube part i just thought it was solid state through and through.

and also i dont think it comes with a footswitch. i thought i could just use a marshall footswitch but i dont know.

the question im asking realy is if i should go for it or not?

and is it realy worth importing it?

Probably a good idea. I think that's a good price compared to what they go for on eBay. They're rare so you'd have a unique sound, I think. I'd hit it.

I may just be a complete moron, but the full extent of my knowledge tells me that the VH-140c is completely solid state. Could be wrong, though.
