engl powerball, and a few questions/concerns

ok so i just bought a powerball, second hand but the guy had owned it 5 mins and decided he didn't like it. big mistake.
anyway, i have 2 questions for now

1. where (in the uk preferably) can i get a cheap, but perfect fit flight case and dust cover.
ill get the engl made stuff if theres no alternative, but i figured they would be expensive and i just want something that will protect it. (more money i spend on flightcases, means more time saving up for a cab)

2. it didn't come with a cab, but i've got a laney LH50 with matching cab i think. the ohm(age?) is the same for the halfstack output option (1x8 ohms i think) for both heads, but if i put the powerball through this cab, which presumably was designed to work with the 50w head, will it damage the powerball(100w)?

im planning on getting a cab for the engl, but i've got to gather together money first and look into the different cabs available. in the meantime, i've got a practise on monday and dont want to fuck up the head.

any cab that can handle at least 100w(prefferably more, just to be safe)... and can handle 4, 8, or 16 ohms...

for the flight cases... do a search on google or something for custom flight case makers, any decent case maker will be willing to make a case to custom specs if they don't already have a production model for it.

thanks, i found a few custom flight case makers, ill ask them for quotes.

err, thats the only cab i can get my hands on.
so should i just wait untill i can get a cab before using the amp?
or will one or two practises not make any difference if i dont turn it up too loud?

well, you need to have a cab to play the amp... otherwise you wont be able to hear it... and if the poweramp doesnt see a load you can put stress on the head and it might pop a fuse(best case scenerio) or something....

Dude, just match the ohms on the cab and head and you're set. I dont think there are any cabs out there that are lower than 100W RMS (i could be wrong but meh)

I have a question about the Powerball but didn't want to make a new thread about it because the title of that thread would have been the same as this one ;P

I was looking around on Engl Amps USA and saw a Powerball Version 2
Link: http://www.englampsusa.com/product.asp?E645_v2

Now, has anyone tried both and knows the real "difference" between them?

I'm gonna get a Powerball this summer, but now I have two choises >:l

the treble control acts a little different, improved noise gate, and I believe they changed how the gain control works a little.

It's not drastic at all though.

better noise gate, different treble taper, and they changed the gain structure to be a little more robust against feedback.

the gain changes arent audible. and the noisegate wont really change the tone. the treble taper even doesnt make a huge difference. if you want a v1 powerball sound out of a v2 powerball, you just have to turn the treble up 2 notches from where you had it on the v1.

the goal was to make it less noisey, and supposedly the treble taper makes it easier to dail in a tight tone.

i have a v1, and it's not noisey, and i use an isp decimator pro rack G for gating anyways... and as far as this "tightness" goes. the only tube amp i've played that is as tight as my powerball is a vht pittbull-UL.

Not to hijack the thread... but I have a problem with my Fireball. When I turn it on, it only goes to like 20 decibels. Could it be a cab problem? Ive replaced all the wires and checked knobs and everything..
