you're back I see
Anywho. The randall rg series are pretty good for bedroom playing. they have a 75, 100 and 200 watt version. Or the 50 watt randall combo. Also sounds very good.

check one of them atomic reactor amps... it's like a little tube poweramp and a 1x12 cab, built around devices like pod's.

I was about to say that, I saw it in a magazine. They're like 200$ or 400$ I believe, I don't remember, but their build specifically for Pod's.

Maybe you can get a Crate Powerblock as a power amp and buy some 1x12 cab or 2x12 for the meantime?

Get a crate SS combo and run it into the clean channel if you're that poor. If you can save for it, get the atomic reactor.

if you cant affard the $200-400 price range for the atomic... you're probably not going to get anything great... you can basically afford a junkie s.s. combo amp.

how would the pod xt do with a roland cube 30 or 60 on the clean channel? i used to own the cube60 and the clean was brilliant. maybe as its a modeller though even the clean channel will colour the sound too much?

If you realy want the preamps of the pod to shine, you need something that doesn't have an preamp, or bypasses the preamp altoghether. basicly just a poweramp.

Because it sounds like shit at low volumes even with an eq pedal and od pedal!
an amp only good when cranked up is no good to me

that is correct, and you can't have too much color on your sound. It could create a time paradox, the results of which could create a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted that's a worst case scenario, the destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.
might as well buy some headphones and save up for an atomic.
