He used an old hot rodded 2203 model master volume Marshall head from the late 70's/early 80's and an ESP 6 string guitar. If you just want to the typical Fear Factory sound, you're better off getting a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier and a 7-string guitar with EMG pickups to get the crisp sound on the newer albums considering no one knows what was actually done to his old Marshall heads. In the studio he also used some kind of combination of a Mesa Boogie Triaxis power amp with his Rectifier to combine a solid state sound with a tube sound.

you can easily coax most fear factory tones out of an emg loaded guitar and a line 6 pod.
