Ampeg VH140: The Review
Ok, so I got the package in; 91 pounds. God'amn. So after picking newspaper out of it for 10 minutes, I finally got it out of the box. It was a little dirty, so I cleaned it up and junk. And the grill is torn, like I've said, so I'm gonna buy a new one.
Alright, John and Rapture know that I had a little problem with the tone at first. It spent 4 days in the cold, which is what was wrong with it. The tone would randomly change from full and good, to tinny and disgusting. After realizing that keeping the chorus on the amp turned "on" fixed it, I uh. Did that. So after fucking with the EQ on my RP7, I've got the tone to sound respectable. I plan on buying a nice EQ once my hours at Circuit City go back up.
So after a few days of testing it, I can say that I am thoroughly impressed with this amp, despite the concern at first. I'm pretty pick about my tone to begin with, but its a great amp. I might end up putting new speakers in it in a month or two, and I might take it to a shop just to get it looked at (just in case). The 140 watts is enough for me to gig with, thankfully, and I can even power another 2x12 with it if John is right.
I figured I'd update this because the other thread turned into a shitfest.
Edit: oh, and I'm at school, so I'll take and upload some pictures later tonight.

You can tell that the speakers are a little old when you play on the clean channel. I'll do my best to get clips and pictures up tomorrow. Somehow, I just don't feel like it tonight.

yeh but the thing is i dont particularly want to buy one off american ebay
number one because most of the auctions for them are posted to the states only and number 2 i dont like using paypall.
if any of you ccould suggest any usa online shops which might sell them then it would be greatly appreciated
