Fingers getting torn up
I'm not totally sure if this warrants a thread...but here goes.
Out of 4 of my main guitars that I play...one is tearing up my Index and Pinky finger. Its odd because if I play the other guitars, no damage happens at all.
Its on my green ESP. I have .52 - .10 guage strings on there and its usually tuned between C and D. For some reason it just fucks up my fingers....is it possible that it needs a fretjob or something? They do look slightly worn, and I am the 3rd owner to have the guitar on Ebay. Regardless, it is a great instrument...I'm just wondering what the hell is goin on.

Could it be that you play more 'wild' music on it, so you get a little carried away while playing? I'd be suprised if it was the frets, are they different make strings? If the frets are larger than your other guitars, then that'll help make your fingers worse.

Well...I play really wild stuff on my Ran (mostly cannibal corpse and meshuggah..morbid angel...you get the idea) and on the ESP I play stuff like gorguts and dying fetus.
A valid point though...I'm using Ernie Ball's on the ESP right now...which I already hate. I use D'addarios on all my other guitars though...but its happened before when I used D'addarios on the ESP too. The action is pretty low also...maybe I should just take it to my tech...

Does it have a floating trem? I found that my guitar which has a trem, has a much tighter string tension than any other guitars without a floating bridge i have played.
Which means it fuckin peels out your fingers when doing a lot of bends.

This has happened to me many times before. It gets so torn up to the point sometimes, that the skin gets ripped and there's an open gash there. I think one of the reasons for me was the inconsistent practice routine I had, so the callouse on it was getting all fucked up and stuff, and so everytime I picked up the guitar and played hard, it tore it up. I think one reason definately, is if you slide your fingers across, mainly on the wound strings, that'll obviously wear your fingers. I think the best thing to do is to play until it starts to get to a point where your fingers are getting shredded. Then maybe take a break and play later.

This is a mystery to me. I'm wondering things about fretboard radius, fret crown shape, nut height, string tension, among other things mentioned, but I would have to watch you play all your guitars over time and have examined all of your guitars to give you a correct guess at the problem. It is kinda hard to point out what could be the problem because I know you have more then one guitar, they are quality guitars, I'm sure they are setup nearly identical, and are all taken care of well.
