loose connection
i just got a new guitar and when i plug the cord into it it doesnt have a good connection. i have to wiggle the cord alittle or hold it in one place for it to get sound. is something loose in the guitar or do i need a new plug hole

getting a new jack input is the easiest and cleanest way. They cost like 4 bucks, and wiring shouldn't be a problem..

i would say to resolder the wires connected to the input...if it still doesn't work...get a new input...

yeah, its rare for the actual input jack itself to break, unscrew the plates and take a look.

Either the wires may have snapped off the jack (happened to me). Or if the plug is loose while its inside the jack you might have to bend the contact bar inwards slightly (this will make it clip in and hold it)

Yeah,does the lead wobble?,if so then its probally the contact bar,if it doesnt wobble,then its probally the connection.

actually my old jack for my jackson was pretty fucked up...i check the wiring and I believe i even rewired it and it was still going nuts...so i just bought a new one and it works perfectly...most important thing to remember is to make sure you have the ground wire (silver wire) and the hot wire (white/black covered whatever color wire) are connected to the right prongs coming out.
