double bass question

i got a pearl world series bass drum, and i was wanting to get a second bass drum for my pedals. do i need the exact same bass drum? or is a different one of the same size ok? i know having the same drum heads is necessary, but about the bass drums...

Having the same type of wood for each bass drum would be something to consider, but it doesn't have to be the same exact one.

You would probably want to get the same bass drum just to be safe. You would probably be able to get a similar sound with a differnt type of wood, but the same wood is your best bet. But hey, if you want 2 different sounding drums, that's cool.

yeah go for the same, unless you want a different sound from your other bass drum, go for as close to identical as possible from your other bass!

(ie get the same make, model, diameter, heads etc.)

alright, so i went ahead and bought my other bass drum, the one i have already is a pearl world series 22x16...i know nothing more than that, because i got it at a pawn shop. the new bass drum i bought is a pearl export EX...whatever. same size 22x16 like the one i already got. that's about as close as i can find to the original one i have. i really hope this works, or else i'm gonna have to order the same thing again, and end up pointlessly with 3 bass drums
