Everyone has a warmup, even if you don't think you do. I just look at my bass and admire it's awesomeness, then I pick it up and jam. That simple, no finger stretches or knuckle cracking.

fret hand warm ups
i usually run through intervals, numbers indicate which finger( 1=index, 2=middle,etc), and fret (1=1st fret etc.) do these patterns from E down to G and back to E:
1 4 (ex. index and pinkie on the 1st and 4th frets)
1 2 3
1 3
1 3 4
1 2 4
1 3 5
1 2 3 4
make sure you start slowly and get the mechanics absolutely perfect, youll be suprised how quickly youll gain speed.if you like these lemme know i got a ton of em.

Like blitz said, use chromatic scales going up and down..
Whats good is to start off really slow,as you nail the speed and both your left and right hand are fully co-ordinated, and then gradually go up a bpm and get a little bit faster until your notes are all correct, etc.. this will help your stamina and speed of runs, aswell as being a good warm up.

That is the BEST warmup. Its also fun to mix it up a little, and make little melodies out of them.

ok this is gonna be hard to explain start going through the first four frets on each string e-1234a1234d1234g1234 or whatever kind of string combinations you might have. once you hit the top string 4th fret slide your pinky up to the fifth fret and work your way back down 5432 5432 5432 5432 on each string then repeat lsiding up one fret after each set all the way up the neck this is good for coordination speed and building finger strength.

I use interval warm ups, like 2nds, 3rds,and 5ths...... or i just play some Jaco tunes.
Example of interval warm up ( a interval is a notes number within a scale)
3rds in a G major Ionian scale ( the one I use most)
--------------------------------
------------------2----4--2--5---
---2---3--2-5--3----5-----------
-3---5-------------------------
this will also give good string skipping capabilities
