Question How do I "rewind" a pickup?

Ok, so I bought this really awesome vintage Carvin off of ebay and it kicks ass. Only problem is that the bridge pickup has only one coil working, so its like a single coil pickup. The guitar has coil tapping switches. The guy who was selling it said that it can be rewound to factory condition. Could I do this myself easily, and if so, how? Or if it's too complicated for a non-professional, what would be a good estimate of the time/price if I take it to a good guitar store and get them to do that for me? Cause I don't think I'd be able to handle being without this baby for more than a week.
