can someone explain me what is tube screamer and for what we use

Tube screamers give some of the most ear peircing, mind numbingly br00t3ly awesome distortion on the planet. Any decent death metal player gets their distortion from that little green box on the floor! Don't underestimate them man they're freakin' GR1M!

most tube amps will not have enough distortion to suffice for death metal and stuff.
a tube screamer is just a pedal used to boost the amp, add more distortion and volume without changing the tone.
