Settings?

I play mostly thrash/power stuff with a bit of prog thrown in. I've been using the settings my friend had recommended to me when I first started playing, but I just wanted to know what you all would suggest.

Amp (http://www.ibanez.com/accessories/spec.asp?m=6&z=y):
Gain/Master Volume: 0 (no need)
Clean: 3+ (depending on allowed/needed volume)
Bass: 10
Middle: 0
Treble: 10
Reverb: 0 (10 when playing more dramatic parts).

Metal Master (http://www.digitech.com/products/metalmaster.htm):
Level: 3+ (depending on allowed/needed volume)
Low: 7-8
Hi: 7-8
Morph: 0/10 (0 for older/dramatic parts, 10 for rest).

Many thanks.

Take your metal master and run it through the effects loop of your amp. Turn its distortion level knob OFF. Use your amps's EQ and the Metal Master's EQ and use your amp's distortion.

*EDIT* I see your amp does'nt have an effects loop ... well, the thing is, with a small combo ... your ears become less sensitive to mids at lower volumes ( scooping is actually going to sound better on an Ibanez Tone Blaster 25 watt ), so just go with whatever tone you want. We all seem to pretend that scooping has NEVER sounded good to us, and that the first amplifier we ever got was a modded 5150 with a Framus Cab, but man, we've all had the days where we sat in our bedroom for hours with a 15 watt amp, totally scooped going "chunk chunk" for an hour, it's why we started playing.

yea you know either like some hardcore fans of the product or the companies put some of those reviews on there. only a few people tell you the truth, thats why id always come ask here before a purchase based on a review

You cant turn the gain off of it,it hasnt got a gain knob. Also the metal master hasnt got much versatality at all with its eq,only has a low and high control.

I've messed with my settings a bit, and gotten a better sound out of my equipment. I can tell my mid's really improved the quality, even on my low-quality amp.

I don't mean to sound like an idiot, but what's "scooping" or a "scoop"?

Heh,

I don't know shit about the specifics of what a 'scooped mid' sounds in comparison to a sound with mids, I just turn the knobs till I like how it sounds.

scooped just sounds like distorted buzz without any real sound in it.
Or that was how it sounded on my mt-2 when is scooped...

Scooping is gay. I can get a much fuller sound with mids. Sure scooping is fun when you're having fun chugging away, but you'll get tired of it when you realize you can't hear a single fuckin note you play... Mids = tits.

good reviews on shit gear usually come from buyer's syndrome. Someone buys a shitty amp, and proceeds to convince themself that it is the shit. In the process of trying to convince themself, they post RAVE reviews on every gear site they know of.

but tone blaster's are weird amps. the controls on it go from -12 till +12. So if you turn on a knob at 12 o clock it's actually 0 on that amp.
