Hey man, you might want to check out the Blue VooDoo line from Crate. Its a pretty good amp, and ive played a 7 string tuned down to G on it, and it sounded killer.
Also i dont think tuning would really effect which amp you get, just go to a store with your guitar tuned to A and try em out!

ibanez made an amp for the dudes from fear factory called tone blasters, they specialize in low tuned and 7 string guitar sound (tone blasters)

Any amp that has good tone in standard tuning is going to have good tone in A. This is providing that you don't turn up the bass to 10 and obliterate the mids. Because theres a good chance that its gonna sound even muddier in A than it is in E.

Hah, who tunes to A anyways. All you hardcore kids and your low tunings and drop tunings. Isn't D low enough? On a serious note, I'd look for a Blue Voodo used on ebay. Really kickass amp.

so many good doom bands tune low down to A.. Evoken, Tyranny, pantheist and mournful congregation.... thats more than enough for me...
Maybe D is more than enough for you... but not for me.. otherwise it will not be doom

There are many good doom bands that don't need to tune to A to sound doomy.

Nile tune to Drop A. Pwned. Well I'm not fond of super downtuning, like B and stuff, D, Eb, and E are the ones I use more often(especially D, cuz you can still hit high notes with it).

Yes, personaly I feel that guitars sound more fuller and dynamic in D. If you go so low, it'll just sound like a big fart.

H&K Warp amps are pretty good for low tunings, if you're on a tight budget, maybe a warp 2x12 fits your bill.
They're not bad at what they do, they're no boutique amps but you can tell they're made for low tunings. If you play them in standard tunings they don't seem to sound right, haha.

Im suprised nobody said anything about Mesa Boogie rectifiers, Anyway i agree with what helpme said that if it sounds good in E it will sound good in A. And for people talking smack on 7-string A tuning & keep praising D maybe you should take a closer look at it. Here ill post it for you...
A D G C F A D

If I tie dental floss on my guitar, does that count as a 7 string?
