I love my 530, but it could use a tad more balls and a little less fizz in it....

I've dicked around Harmony-Central a bit, and found Voodoo Mods, who offer custom mods on the 530 apparently...

Im sure someone here has dealt with Trace? Does he deliver almost exactly what you were looking for (especially in custom mods?)

I've sent him an email, and hopefully my mod wont cost too much, as it's only doing those two things. The ADA MP-1 mod does that + a bunch of other shit and it's only $260...

Yeesh, for just that work it's $395 + $50ish shipping...i'll wait a few months.

trace is a cool guy... and his work is very clean and well done...

but the mods will probably cost almost what you paid for the preamp... honestly if you need more balls from it.. i suggest either selling it and buying another preamp... or get an addition to your rig like an external eq.. like a graphic eq, parametric eq, or even a sonic maximizer.
