No Strings?
How long can you leave a guitar without strings, before it starts to damage the neck?
Ive been looking for a 7 string geetaa and one of the ones ive come across, he hasnt had strings on it for 2 months..
How badly does that damage a guitar?

I was about to ask the same question myself, as I just broke and was forced to remove the locking nut on my BC Rich Ironbird's neck.

It doesn't matter how long the strings are off a guitar, if its a decent guitar there should be no problems at all. Same with restringing a guitar, some people say do one string at a time to retain tension. Thats not true, its just for convenience of tuning. Guitars are built out of stonger stuff than that, man.

If their is no tension on a guitar neck, eventually it will start to warp.

True, seems that people forget about the truss rod. The purpose of the truss rod is to counteract the pull the strigs have on the neck. When there are no strings, the truss rod still applies pressure to the neck, and will warp it if counter tension (strings) is not applied. This usually takes a while though.
Unless the guy has been standing on the neck, I don't think 2 months will hurt it. It may have a little bit of back bow, but once strung up it should be easily fixable (small turn on truss rod) or may just return to a favorable action. If you want it, go for it dude.
