Kentucky Fried Movie was absolutely hilarious for the most part. However, I was under the heavy influence of marijuana at the time. I was laughing when nothing was even happening.

Last friday I went into the cinema to watch Shutter Island. Holy crap that movie pulled me soooo down. Never saw this insane shit like that one. I was literally shocked about some scenes and me and my friends weren`t able to party after we watched that psycho-crap.

Might be cool. I still don't get why they have to puke out a remake of it. I dunno, just feels like you kill some of the magic with this constant spitting of sequels and re-makes, regardless of what movie we're talking about.

I've been fairly open minded about the remake of Hellraiser, mainly because Clive Barker welcomed the idea and will be involved in some way, but in 3D? BOOOOOOOO!

Yea, I also heard that they weren't going to use any computer graphics, just the good old gut churning gore that made Hellraiser and The Thing to the under-the-bed-lurkers they both are and I liked that. But this is just pandering to trends for no good reason.

Is anybody else not "getting" the proclivity of film studios to make films in 3D?

You can charge a lot more money for them. I doubt they are much more expensive to produce and the glasses are cheap as shit. I saw avatard in 3d in December, and for me it was just a little bit blurry and sort of 3d. Overrated movie also.

Right there with you, Mansley ol' boy. I think its to target a younger audience. I remember being young and absolutely thrilled that there was a movie I could see in 3D and would beg and beg my parents to take me to go see it. Now, it makes the movie feel fake and doesn't really even look much like 3D.

I'm not a fan of the 3D craze. I really didn't enjoy it. It was cool for about 5 minutes but then it just got annoying cause it's like you can only see parts of the screen and the rest is blurry, and you can't take the glasses off cause the whole fucking thing is blurry. Fuuuuck that.
This fucking shit about only posting a message every 120 seconds irks me.

Wow. Someone around here actually want to post more than once every three minutes? Place is livening up.
Maybe some of us are just getting old, but I don't get the 3D-craze either. Sure, if it had been in fact been like the thing jumped out of the screen and you suddenly found yourself sitting inside it and couldn't help but duck when of Pinnie's chains came swinging... but it's not like that at all. Waiter, add another iota on my cynicism meter.

For me, so far 3D has added something interesting to a few films. However, I just always want the option... I never want to be forced into only 3D. But, I thought Avatar looked best in 3D.
It should be reserved for action/adventure movies, though. Or trippy shit like Coraline.

I hate to admit it, but I still have yet to see the infamous Cannibal Holocaust. I really want to, but I've always been too lazy or too Jew to buy the damn thing. Anyone want to send me a copy? Paddy, looking your way.

It's not that crazy of a film. However, all the killing of animals in it is real. I liked it but I think it is kind of over rated.
Last House on the Left or 120 Days of Sodom are also interesting flicks.

Some sick flicks which spring to mind:
Men Behind the Sun (contains an actual autopsy, of a kid no less, and a scene where a cat is thrown into a room filled with hungry rats which eat it alive, and then the rats are set on fire haha, all in good fun)
Saló, or The 120 Days of Sodom (good call, moe! It'll put you off your sausages and chocolate for a while)
Guinea Pig 2: Flower of Flesh and Blood
August Underground 1, 2 & 3 (overrated, but plenty of guts and crying)
Audition (only one scene is worth noting for its sickness, and it's probably on YouTube - great film, though)
Island of Death
Ichi the Killer (boring as fuck, but some of the sick scenes make it worth enduring)
There are countless cannibal movies out there, but Cannibal Holocaust is pretty much the daddy of them all. It has one of the best impalement scenes ever filmed, for one thing, and I'm a man who appreciates a good impalement. Ain't that right, blitz?
Cannibal Ferox is often mentioned in the same breath as Cannibal Holocaust, but it's fucking shit, even for an exploitation movie. Two scenes are worth watching on YouTube if they're available: a woman hanging from meat hooks through her jubblies, and a guy being put under a table which has a hole in it for the top of his head to poke out of, and one of the cannibals lops off the top of it with a machete (he gets his cock sliced off earlier). And of course it's full of animal torture.
Men Behind the Sun is an exploitation movie, but it's actually pretty accurate in how it portrays the subject matter, namely the goings on in Unit 731 during WWII. There are sequels which deal with other Japanese WWII atrocities, like The Rape of Nanking, but they're fucking hilarious. The original, however, is pretty bleak.
Unit 731 is also covered by an excruciatingly shit movie called Philosophy of a Knife. One of the most pretentious, convoluted pieces of shit I've ever seen, and it's over 4 hours long. I knew it'd be shit before I watched it, but I heard it was full of disturbing violence so naturally I had to have a peek. Bollocks.
Anyone seen Driller Killer? It's a bit shit, and to save you from wasting your time with it here's the best scene:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCEvDKOuhic
I love how he grabs the guy's trousers. "If creasing his jeans doesn't stop him from drilling a hole in my head I don't know what will". It's amazing to me how the director of this shitty movie could go on to direct something like Bad Lieutenant.

I download the DVD, which uses up bandwidth and ties up my connection which my whole family has to make use of, then burn it, which uses up a disc, then buy a jiffy bag, then go to the post office which requires bus fare and at least an hour if I rush, and then pay to have it sent overseas. I don't just Frisbee the disc out of my window and hope it lands in your lap.

Then don't offer everyone in the Mod's Lair free whatever-they-want anytime-they-want and then complain afterward that its such a fucking hassle!

It's not a hassle when I explicitly offer, but when requests start popping up out of the blue without my input or approval it's different. If I refuse it makes me look like a cunt, and a fickle cunt at that. If I said "Cannibal Holocaust? Great movie, if anyone hasn't seen it PM me and I'll get you a copy" that's cool, but I didn't offer.
Things said in the mod forum should stay there, that's why we have a separate forum after all

:\ when someone says to you "if there's anything I can do, just ask" do you call them up the next day and ask them to scratch your balls? It's a figure of speech, and the other members/mods seem to get that, which is probably why the only person I've been sending shit to on a regular basis is you.
Incidentally, this sort of thing is usually two-way. Ireland is capable of receiving mail as well as sending it. This is what I meant when I said I've become a mule; my function in recent months has become one of sourcing downloads and shipping them with no reciprocation, and while I enjoyed the altruistic nature of it at the beginning it's gotten to the point where 90% of my contact with you (and others) revolves around downloading lists of shit I don't even want myself. I didn't make a big deal out of it at first because I'm the new guy, relatively speaking, but fuck this. I'll be sending Christobel the comedy discs he wanted in exchange for the Wesley Willis stuff, but that'll be the end of it.
Movies, for fuck's sake.

I actually like Ichi the Killer, especially the sequence that blends the two meetings in the restaurant (taking place years apart in story time) together. Some really good filmmaking there, in the midst of all the absurd violence.
As for Driller Killer, well, a lot of good directors got their start making shitty horror films in the 70's. Just look at Cronenberg and Shivers - you almost wouldn't believe how much better he'd get.
Does this mean you won't be scratching my balls today, Paddy?

I actually downloaded it last night, gonna watch it again. I haven't seen it in years, and I think the only reason I watched it the first time was because of the gore haha. I'll give it due attention later today.
Miike is an interesting director alright, Audition was like a fevered nightmare.

Haha true, even Scorsese had to dabble in exploitation with Box Car Bertha before they let him near Taxi Driver!

Let me just check my schedule...nah, looks like I'm all booked up for the day:
08:00 - 08:01: sucking Dylan's cock
08:01 - 10:30: comforting Dylan as he weeps
10:30 - 14:00: downloading Destiny's Child demos for Dylan's sister
14:00 - 16:00: downloading obscure Eastern Block porn
16:00 - 16:10: packaging said porn in a jiffy bag marked "To Dylan"
16:10 - 22:00: catching up on the latest dozen or so posts he's left for me in the mod forum so that I can start all over again tomorrow
Ahhh another day in paradise!

Aww, man, now I gotta scratch my own balls? Thanks a lot, Dyldo!
Seriously, though, I wish you guys would leave the mod forum stuff out of this. It's fun when we mention nomad's porn stash and all, but that should really be it. I don't care how demanding our resident spoiled little shit gets.
Yeah, pretty much every 70's director has some drivel in their early filmography, especially considering how many came up through Roger Corman. Though at least most of them never made Finian's Rainbow. Oh yes, I went there.

Every damn time I ask for something, I always say "hey, do you want anything?" and you always say "no, no, just take this!". I think you're honestly doing this on purpose and to feel needed. Offering favors and then complaining about having to do them and how you're so over loaded is bullshit. Don't let us keep you from your non-existent job and girlfriend.

Seriously, though, I wish you guys would leave the mod forum stuff out of this. It's fun when we mention nomad's porn stash and all, but that should really be it. I don't care how demanding our resident spoiled little shit gets.
|
I wouldn't even have mentioned it if Dylan hadn't brought it up, and as far as the regulars here were concerned I had only ever sent Dylan one package (the RAM, as mentioned in the PC thread) but he kinda hoisted his own retard by inadvertently revealing the fact that I've been sending him shit ever since by putting me in a position where I had to defend myself, which is nothing new to those of us with access to the mod forum.
I think it would do all of us some good if the mod forum's bitching would be aired a little more here, the secrecy has only given license to certain mods to be cunts "behind closed doors".

I think we're getting to the nub of this now. It's about taking advantage of someone's willingness to be taken advantage of. You know I mean by that, being a fellow sufferer of anxiety. An anxiety-fuelled desire to please leaves one open to getting walked over, and ironically it's an anxiety sufferer who's doing the walking. Good luck with the psychology course.
Haha and yeah, my being jobless and without a woman isn't exactly a revelation, given that I've been the one to point it out in the past. Anything else you wanna "reveal" about my shortcomings to the masses? How about the fact that I'm the only man on the planet who hasn't yet inserted at least one digit into yo' mama?

That RAM you "sent"? Yeah, it never came and now I've got to wait another few weeks until I can afford to buy some now that I know that I need to save up to buy one. Not the first person this has happened too, either.
Don't give me that anxiety bullshit. You can't use that as a crutch for all of your short-comings. Just because some fucking perv teacher tried to get you to go down on him in England on some school trip, or whatever the fuck happened, doesn't mean you can use its (treatable) psychological repercussions every time you do something retarded. Big fucking deal, get over it.

Things are heating up in the ring, Ladies and gentleman. We're in round 3, with 5 minutes to go. The judges can't decide who has the upper-hand in this brawl, so the audience can be expecting quite a match, tonight. Thanks to our referee, Paul Sullivan Trent, as he seems to be keeping it a fair game down there. This is Joe The Retard on Fight Night, coming to you live from NBC Radio.

Don't worry, I've scared him off. That queer can't hide behind his stupid cliche midget jokes anymore. Shit, I bet he'll be glad I outed his meaningless traumatizing event in a few weeks; he will be thanking me. Was it worth loosing my own personal blockbuster? Yes.

Where were we?
I have the AVI file, but not the full DVD, so if you prefer I can upload it to MegaUpload instead of mailing it, which will save you waiting for weeks. How are your download speeds?
I'll probably upload it anyway, and just give the link to whomever PMs me for it.
EDIT: The movie is uploaded

Watched Papillon last night. Great movie, definitely up there with my favorite "jail movies". I've got a hard on for anything Steve Mcqueen, my favorite by far being Cincinnati Kid.. fucking great flick. I have yet to see Sand Pebbles, however, and I'm told its great.

Have you seen Cool Hand Luke, Dylderino? If not, check that shit out with your saltiest checking-shit-out gland.
Scum is also worth checking out, it's a British film about the borstals in the UK (not sure if you call 'em borstals over there, they're basically prisons for young offenders, like juvenile hall).
In the Name of the Father is quite prison-heavy, but it's not really about prison life. Fucking good film, though. True story, too.

Have I seen Cool Hand Luke? Yeah. Only about 30 times, though. Paul Newman is one of my absolute favorite actors, and that's my favorite of his. They just don't make men on the silver screen like they used to...
Watched Sand Pebbles the other night. Awesome.
I have not seen Scum, but I'll check it out. I recently saw another foreign jail flick in theaters a month or two ago called The Prophet. It was alright.
The best jail flick ever has to be Midnight Express. Have you seen it, Pad? If not, drop everything (including trou), and get to it. Based on a true story of an American getting imprisoned for life in a Turkey. One of my personal favorites all-around.
In a few hours I'm going up to LA to see a pre-screening of George Romero's new movie, Survival of the Dead.

I've got the special edition DVD with 5 million hours of extras and a replica of Rifki's severed tongue. FUCK YOU!
Oh! Rikfi is played by Paolo Bonacelli, who was one of the main fascists in Saló, or The 120 Days of Sodom. Worth watching, especially if you're trying to give up chocolate. Here's a trailer with commentary:
http://trailersfromhell.com/trailers/576
You can see Paolo in the trailer feeding the "dogs".

Will do.
Just got back from the Survival of the Dead screening. It was pretty bad, and it was painful to watch the man that gave me Night of the Living Dead and Dawn come to that piece of shit.

Actually watched The Shawshank Redemption for the first time a few days ago. I'm just wondering how I've missed out on such a great movie for so long.
Also watched Domino, pretty good action film. Watch it if you like women who would chop your cock off and fuck you with it.

Shawshank is great. Check the few posts above for some other great jail movies (and in every other sense, too).

I get enough jail in my life.
I saw The Losers last night, at the request of the girlfriend, and it was actually a pretty entertaining action/comedy. I wouldn't want to run out and buy it right away, but it's definitely worth seeing at least once.

I'm 3/4ths through it and it just seems sort of stupid. I don't know, I never really liked comics...
It is entertaining though, I just don't see why its so great.

Entertainment goes a looooooooong ways. Nothing has to be a certain degree of entertaining in order to be successful, it just has to be something that fulfills some sort of something for someone. And then they can fulfill that something with other people and talk about that fulfillment of something with other people.
Or it could be a personal preference. You choose.

Shutter Island was one of the most dreary, mundane, predictable pieces of shit I've seen in a long time. I knew the twist just from watching the trailer. It's basically the same thing as that Michael Douglas movie "The Game", except instead of a birthday gift it's therapy.
Planes, Trains & Automobiles on the other hand! Fucking classic movie. I'd watch that 10 times in a row rather than sit through another Scorsese/Decaprio collaboration. It's a bit smooshy at points, but Steve Martin and John Candy pull it off pretty well, I reckon.
I miss John Candy; why do the good always die so fat?

Ugh, yeah.. seriously bummer on how lame that movie turned out to be. The 'twist' was basically screaming at you 20 minutes in. I don't know how strong of a relationship I see between it and The Game, but I haven't seen that movie in a long time. I remember liking it a lot though.

Too true son, too true. I think you can gauge how good a "twist" film is by how likely you are to watch it again. There are films which are immensely enjoyable and gripping even when you know what's going to happen, with the performances and the writing sucking you in regardless of the looming spectre of the twist hanging over your head, ready to drop right on cue. Splutter Island ain't one of those films. And neither is The Game, incidentally haha.
With regards to its connection to The Game:
Spoilers ahoy:
In "The Game" Sean Penn gives his brother Michael Douglas the gift of a fake conspiracy with him at the heart of it, complete with fake hitmen hunting him and fake deaths and femme fatales, etc. Basically, it's a huge play with Michael Douglas being the only one who thinks it's real. Pretty much the same deal in Shitter Island, except instead of it being an exciting and memorable experience by way of a birthday gift it's designed to therapise the b'jaysus outta Leonardo Decapitated. The ultimate goal of each hoax is different, but the journey there is pretty much the same, they just ran the basic story elements of The Game through a Psychologicalifier™ and it spat out Cunter McIsland.
/spoilers
I had always disliked Decaprio, and I conceded to myself years ago that it was probably because of his pretty boy image and that I was just being difficult, but I can now honestly say that I consider him to be one of the biggest lemons in Hollywood. He and Nicholas Cage should fuck off, and Scorsese should go back on the coke.

I have this movie on my hard drive somewhere, haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Might do so tonight
I'm waiting for a couple of Blu-rays to arrive from Amazon, thanks to my lil' bro. One is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Seriously Ultimate Edition (haha) and a fantastic Italian Film, Gomorrah. TCM doesn't really need any discussion, but Gomorrah is worth a look if you haven't seen it. It's loosely based on actual tumultuous events which took place in the Mafioso underworld of Italy a few years back. It feels like a documentary, it's that authentic and gritty. I think this film does more to strip away the romanticism the mafia has enjoyed in cinema more than any other film that I'm aware of, and it's one of the best films I've seen for the past several years.

Damn, that's lame. From the title, I was hoping it would be the follow-up to 120 Days of Sodom. Salo = 120 minutes of FAP.

There is a Japanese equivalent which i found a lot better..I forget what it's called though.
I took my girlfriend to Splice last night. Holy fuck was that bad. It was more of a comedy than a horror movie(and not in a good way)...very predictable, terrible story, I hate Sarah Polley, terrible, awful, fucking trash.
IT FUCKING SUCKED SHITTY ASS.

Negative..but Killer Condom is a pretty fucked up movie. The Japanese one is a similar story, with a girl with a monster vagina..except she intentionally fucks guys.

Vagina Dentata? I've never seen the movie, I just love the word and know that there is one with the same name.

I forgot how "legitimate" The Texas Chain Saw Massacre is. I watched it on Blu-ray recently, the transfer is indistinguishable from the pirate VHS my friend had when we were kids haha, but I think that may have been intentional.
I hadn't seen it in several years, and I was impressed by the dialogue and its delivery by the players. For some reason I always had it in my head that this was a shitty popcorn horror, perhaps one of the better popcorn horrors, but it's actually pretty effective 36 years later.
I was reading up about it on Wikiwankia, and I was mildly irritated by the quotes from reviewers when the film was first released. Pretty much every one of them commented on the graphic gore and blood, despite the fact that you never see anything but blood on the walls, none of which was extracted from the victims in the film save for the bloodied knees of one or two "runners". There is NO fuckin' gore in this movie, and the first time I saw it as a kid I remember feeling cheated by that fact haha. I listened to one of the commentaries and the director and the guy who played Leatherface were talking about people insisting that they saw a chain saw slice into flesh several times on-screen, it's like people created these scenes in their own heads, which is why I think it's a damn fine film.

I just watched four films directed by Steve Buscemi.
They were:
Animal Factory
Lonsome Jim
Trees Lounge
Interview
Animal Factory was a weird prison movie with Edward Furlong and Willem Dafoe. It was funny to see Willem slice his vein and cover himself in "feces." two and a half stars
Lonsome Jim was pretty good for an indie black comedy. two and a half stars
Trees Lounge was my favorite of them all. I think Chloë Sevigny is extremely attractive. *queues notorious scene from The Brown Bunny* three stars
Interview was mediocre but the main chick was hot. two stars

I looked up this Chloë Sevigny woman to see what all the fuss was about, but I could only find pics of some blonde guy in a dress.

Ahaha, you have to see her in action. She's got a strange sexiness to her.
Who wants to nerd-hyperventilate with me?! New Mortal Kombat Movie! I don't care if it sucks or not, anything MK related sends me deep into a nostalgic coma. Its interesting that the characters, or at least those that they introduced, are not "super-humans", but normal people with some kind of twist. I don't see how they can do that with everyone though and I hope they don't. I was a little pissed that they've really changed the story behind some of these characters, like Reptile and Baraka, but I guess they're going for some kind of realism (which is kind of silly.. I mean, come on, its fucking Mortal Kombat. All realism needs to be left at the door with security)
I've read some other sources speculating that it might be a promotional video for a new game or something.. but I doubt it.

Cheesier than a yeast infection in 200 degree heat, but like you I'll always have a soft spot for MK related media. I hate superhero movies, even if the characters are basically human, but I may watch this. I just may.

Dude, did you get Trilogy? Please tell me you got Trilogy, that's the best MK to ever be made. Shit must be pretty hard on a keyboard though.

Of course Trilogy!
Yeah the presettings for the controls were pretty fucked up so I changed almost everything to play at least decent.

I didn't recognise the name at first, but having looked her up on IMDB.com I now realise that I've seen her in American Psycho, Boys Don't Cry (well, I sure fuckin' did) and Broken Flowers. Unless I had the misfortune of seeing the only three movies in which she resembles a green grocer's front window I'm not getting the sexiness. Even having her guts eaten out by a hermaphrodite didn't do it for me, and Christ knows I loves me some hermaphrodites!

Try to watch a whole surgery on youtube. I highly recommend it!

*shrug* chalk it up to preference then. she has the indie arty girl next door thing going for her i guess. i always thought mila jovovich was inexplicably beautiful even though she looks a little funny. especially in the fifth element. something about the more perfectly formed actresses of hollywood look very boring and soulless to me, it takes a certain something imo.

I think we've found the crux of the problem here - an indie arty next door girl killed my entire family. Plus she was pretty irritating.

I agree, but just because I reject that phoney "movie star" nonsense it doesn't then follow that potato-faced mongoloids from the top of the ugly tree are hawt, even if they know how to use their pussy to mouth the words to a Barry White song. I may be over-emphasising the point a little...
I just wish everyone could be at least as attractive as me, and then there'd be no problem!

I'm 100% on board with you about Mila Jovovich, too. She's painfully gorgeous and probably #1 or 2 on my list-of-girls-to-stalk-and-swoon (with you being #3 of course, now that I know you have such great taste in women). However, as you mentioned, like Chloe (though not as bad as your evidence), her photographs usually don't do her near justice.. but then again most people don't photograph well unless there's someone to airbrush the soul out of them. Nothing like a little character in the face, I say!

Natalie Portman would pwn Chloë Sevigny AND Milla Jovovich in a fight, and don't even think about claiming otherwise because NO BACKSIES, CUNTOS!
In case you guyses haven't noticed, I'm a master debater (at least I think that's what my mum was repeatedly screaming at me that day as she dragged me out of her closet) so just throw in the towel and let's get back to talking about sweet movies and NOT about people who resemble feet and face transplant recipients.
Beauty is subjective anyway, except when I'm talking

I remember when Milla was real young and skinny as a chicken leg bone modelling in the ladies magazines I used to read back in the 80's. She was so different than most of the models in looks. Very elegant simple beauty like me.
I remember when she played on Paradise, one of my favorite westerns. I think that was the first time I saw her act and she was good in it, too.

I'm only a fan of Portman's looks from a certain era...
I dig Chloe's heavily sedated boyish charm.

You be John and I'll be Hinckley, and together we can attempt to assassinate Obama to impress the young Natalie Portmeister. If it works, I call dibs on her face and anus. If it doesn't, well, at least we got to spend an afternoon together.

Has anyone heard of the movie that just came out "The Human Centipede"? It's a horror movie about these tourists who are kidnapped by this scientist who surgically connects these girls ass to mouth, stringing the gastric system together to make a HUMAN CENTIPEEEDE *cue spooky music*.
Here's the trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX8fKLjC__c
Gonna watch it tonight.

Yeah, I've heard a lot about it but I haven't caught it yet. Is it out on DVD yet? Or is it online? If latter, please link.
