Buying from USA
hey just wondering, what problems could i come up against when buying a guitar from the US, me living in the UK?
ive heard stuff about tax problems, shipping damage, alsorts...
is it worth it?

I think you get charged VAT (17.5%) by the couriers who deliver the guitar, when they arrive at your door. I m not really to sure though. I wonder whether if you buy a guitar off ebay in america whether you would get charged 
you could probably get around paying VAT for a guitar if you new someone in the channel islands (part of the uk) as they don't get charged vat.

well if you buy a guitar it would be logical to get a hardcase with it

for a guitar, just the crazy shipping fees and taxes, customs can be a bitch. so it better be a good enough deal to be worth it.
and if it's an amp or something... you also have stuff like voltage to consider.

If you got to go thru all that ,frig it , buy it in Europe ,you almost pay the same with VATS ,Tariffs , Custom fees and whatnot. |
