Problems with Floyd Rose (Edge Pro)

Well not really problems prob just cause I dont know how to use it yet. I just got this guitar 15 min ago. So I put the tremolo bar in. I tuned it. And turned the little knobs down at the end of the bridge all the way down. Thats what the locking nut is right? I just used the whammy bar once and its gone out of tune again.

Never used a floyd rose before?

Well first you set the fine tuners (the little ones on the bridge) to about the middle. Then with the locking nuts loose, you tune your guitar. Strech out the strings nice and good, retune, play a lil, retune till it starts holding tune. Then you lock the nut down and use the fine tuners to get it precise.

Holy crap, complicated. I thought by fine tuners they just meant tuners o_O. Hope it didnt mess it up or anything lol. And also what do you mean by 'Strech Out Strings' Hmmm well im going to bed now ill have to mess around with it tommorow. Also im going to Sam Ash tommorow to get pick up new amp. Do you think I should bring my guitar in and ask them to show me how to use it. Or I dont think ill actually have to bring it in.

I spent 3 packs of strings when I tried to restring my Ibanez for the first time but then I got the hang of it.

yea, you might aswell bring it in and get them to show you how to tune it, it will be helpful and easier to learn if someone shows you it in person.

You can stretch the strings several ways. They stretch naturally when you wind and tune em, but to quicken the process, I will literally grab each string one by one and pull it up as far as the string above it and down as far as the string below it, back and forth about 6 times. This helps it wind tight and get all the slack out. I do this about 4 times. Then they pretty much hold tune perfectly.

OR you could change string gauge but that would mean you would have to change the truss rod settings and mess around with the screws in the back to make the bridge level

Took me 20 min.'s my first time, and it's a supposedly crappy licensed Floyd. I kid you not. You just need to have a simple understanding of how a tremolo works then when you get a floyd in front of you for the first time you'll quickly realize what all the parts do and how you need to adjust them. Don't rush ahead and tighten a screw you have no idea what it's for, study the parts and then it's all pretty much common sense.

Reading FAQ's might be confusing so search for ones with lots of detailed pictures and it will start to make sense.
