switching from a marshall g100r to a randall rh100g2.
i'm in the market for a new amp. even though the marshall head is cheap i've found some sweet sounds with it. basically im wondering if switching to the randall is worth it, or would it make more sense to save up for something tubed? i don't really want to spend the money and end up getting something that sounds almost like what i have now.

It would make sense to upgrade to something better than that Randall.Doesnt have to be tube, though.

I'm not saying to buy a Randall, but I have the RH200SC head and I really like it alot. Its pretty much the same as the RH100G2 except mine is 200 watts stereo and mine does not have a voicing control or clean boost since its not the G2 version. Oh yeah, the rh100g2 doesn;t have any chorus or reverb effects, i think...

Hey, I also had a randall 200sc, and man i would never ever ever buy another randall after that thing, i get it home, and 3 days later its feedbacking with itself some how, nothing would be plugged in and it would feed back. Sent it in, randall took oh 3 months to get it back to me, supposedly fixed. Not. and the tone is okay, i just got it cause it was cheap, but do yourself a favor i think, and dont get a randall. Thats just my 2 cents though. im 1000 times happier with my 90 watt crate soildstate than that randall.

To me, it seems like with Randalls people either hate them or love them ( i obviously love them)... i also noticed that with Randalls, some units work without problems like mine or others just fuck up... I don;t know...

I love the randall RM series. And used to have a randall warhead. But it was pretty beat up when I got it so it didn't last long.

I know older Randall amps kick ass as well most new ones. There are a few I hear of that have problems.
Either way, I love Randall too. Cyclones seem pretty rare now. I have one and I don't think I would sell it for anything. I played next to a Vmax before I bought mine and I thought the Cyclone had far better tone even though the Vmax had tubes and cost far more.

Yeah I know...I've been dying to try out a Cyclone.I've been to Sam Ash, GC and many mom and pop stores in my area but can't seem to find Randalls at all. I was lucky to get the two Randalls i have now...they were the last ones in the store.
