Ducan Invaders vs. EMG 81 and 85

Ok I am going to put some new pick ups in my Ibanez. And I can't choose between these two sets Ducan Invaders and EMGs 81 and 85. So yeah are their any suggestions? What are the pros and cons of each.

What guitar, and what do you want to use them for.Invaders can be muddy as hell in some guitars.Pro's and cons of actives vs passives:actives sound the same, basically,in any guitar,so you dont have to worry about matching pickups with wood, but therefore have quite a generic, and sterile tone. Not that that is a bad thing.
Passives can sound awesome in a guitar that compliments their tone, but can sound like shit in the wrong one.
BTW there are much better neck p/u's than the Invader.

Since we're on the subject *cough* ...

I want more power to my Mahogany, Maple neck-thru ESP Horizon... Wouldn't I rather get the ToneZone than the Invader cause of the Mahogany body?

If its Alder I say try the Invader but if it's basswood/mahogany I'd rather go with DiMarzio's or EMG's.

DO NOT put an Invader in a mahogany bodied guitar.

It's for a Gore/Thrash/Grind band. Similar to the ones on Razorback Records.

I have it set up for the tunning B,E,A,D,F#,B will that effect my choice of pick ups?

It's a basswood body.

I would get a JB for that.

JB = Clarity, articulation, tone, mids.

When you're tuning down that low with a basswood/mahogany guitar, its best not to have pickups with tons of low end, like an Invader. Get something more conservative, because you're already going to have gobs of bass from your tonewoods and tuning.

OK I don't really want a muddy sound so I guess the Invaders are out. What about those EMGs. How are they with low tunning?

invader is muddy, B tuning would make it even more muddy me thinks

id go with emg 81, the 85 is great in the bridge too, but i think the low end with an 85 in the bridge plus the B tuning would be too overwelming
