	| 6 string or 7 ?
well if seven, theres only really one high end choice if you wanna buy a brand new axe under 1k, that would be the rg1527. its awesome tho, the 2005 model is by team j craft in japan. super thin super fast wizard 7 neck with the ultra low profile edge pro tremolo.

if you mean 6, then there are quite a few options.
if he wants 24 frets he should look at the prestige rg series. theyre all pretty much the same core instrument with just different appearances and hardware settings. e.g some with pickguard, some with out, different paint jobs, different p'ups, different p'up combination etc etc. so its really just a matter of going through the ibanez website and looking at all the prestiges guitars and choosing which one suits you and which one looks the best.

theyre no more than £700, so you have at the VERY LEAST £300 to spare.

if you want 22 frets, look at the s series, its the same deal as the rg, same guitars but with variations. its all down to personal preferences.

i would just go through the site and compare features and then prices.
