fucks yeah, this shit came yesterday at about 1 oclock


i cant write a full review right now, cause im still on the "Honeymoon period" right now

but my first impressions were very positive,

the tone sounds kind of marshall like (perhaps due to the EL 34s in my power amp)

and this fucker has plenty of gain, there's no need to worry about it not being brutal enough

EDIT: Oh and the best part was since i got the package sent to my aunt in the states, when she shipped it to me i didnt have to pay a cent on duty! which was exactly my plan!

You'll notice 2 things with the 530:

A) The more volume and mids you have, the less gain you need. I had my mids at about 1/2 o'clock and my lead channel volume around 9 o'clock, with the power amp vol maxed as well as the "line out" control on the back, and with my Schecter omen 6 (x2n in the bridge) my gain was at 9 o'clock (!!!!!!!!!!!) and it was still heavy!

B) It REALLLLLLLYYY responds to different pickups. I have to do totally different EQ settings between my schecter, my jackson, my strat, and my les pauls.

well overall im really impressed with it, this is my first tube setup and the difference is huge between this and my old crate head

you can tell it really responds to different picking

Last night when i was jamming for a little bit me and my drummer played Episode 666 by inflames, i was very impressed with how it sounded, i mean i had it turned up and it DIDNT suck, im not used to that!

now later on that evening my grind band practiced(we sound kind of like combatwoundedvetran if anyone has heard them) and i was abit disapointed with the 530s performance(keep in mind i was using a sonic maximizer which im sure effects this alot) because i couldnt really hear my riffs very clearly

however, i think this is happening for a few reasons:
first and foremost we were jamming in a shitty ass unfinished gargage, this place has always sounded like COMPLETE ass
also this band is just constant blasting, its usually not easy to hear riffs over that kind of stuff
and the last reason is that im still tweaking my EQ,

which reminds me, Halfmast trousers, if you have any EQ recomendations, im all ears

I find the 530 to be bright with most guitars. Dont be afraid to cut the treble a bit and almost-dime the bass. I keep my hi mid around 1 o'clock cause dialing it a little too high gives it some fizz...lo mid is adjusted to taste, but is usually in the same area for balance. Other guitars (i'm not sure about yours...) the EQ reacts a LOT differently, like I said. And also keep in mind that gain thing. The more volume/mids there are, the less gain you're gonna need.

It's all how it responds to your certain guitar.
